About RUMPUS

RUMPUS is a community of professional independent theatre makers facilitating fierce, thrilling and innovative new theatre in Adelaide.

Founded in 2019 by Yasmin Gurreeboo (Artistic Director at ActNow Theatre and Artistic Director of Foul Play Theatre Company), Nescha Jelk (former resident artist at State Theatre Company South Australia) and independent performer and theatre-maker Rebecca Mayo, RUMPUS was a response to the lack of a thriving industry second tier, with isolated independent artists and companies struggling with limited resources and support.

RUMPUS is now a fully fledged collective of theatre makers. Our members work hard to provide artists with the opportunity to create year-round and give audiences the opportunity to experience exciting new theatre in an affordable and accessible way.
